Counseling Grads & Prospective Students

If you’re a prospective counseling student or graduate student in your last semester of a counseling program, it can feel quite daunting to embark on the next chapter of your journey. You might have a million questions swirling around in your head, unsure of where to seek guidance. If that’s you, I’m so glad you’ve found me.

In our consultation time, I’d be happy to work along side you in answering questions like…

  • What type of license is right for me? LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.?

  • What type of clinical setting is right for me? Group practice, community mental health, hospital, private practice?

  • How do you use social media to market yourself as a mental health therapist?

  • What are the pros and cons of running a private practice vs being a W2/1099 therapist? What even is a W2 and 1099?!

  • How does supervision work after graduation?

  • and more!

I’d love to collaborate with you and share what I’ve learned!

Please note that peer-to-peer consultation is NOT supervision.

Current Therapists

Current therapists, I’d love to support you around these topics regarding your clients:

  • Working with BIPOC clients, adult children of immigrants, or immigrant clients

  • Topics surrounding boundary setting, parentification/infantilization, identity work, perfectionism, anxiety, and low self-esteem

  • Showing up as a “non-blank slate” therapist

If you’re more interested in consulting on business practices, I’d love to support you around these topics:

  • Navigating/starting a private practice

  • Niching down and marketing on social media

  • Establishing your PP rate

  • Preparing for pregnancy announcement and maternity leave

As a Korean-American immigrant, feminist, mom, former teacher, and
“I-want-to-be-chill-but-I’m-a-little-Type-A” therapist, I am able to provide consultation from personal and professional experiences. I started my private practice right out of grad school and have been in practice since May 2023. Since then, I have received majority of my client referrals from Instagram. Running a private practice can feel lonely and daunting at times, so I love to support other therapists in any way I can!

Please note that peer-to-peer consultation is NOT supervision.
