Are you a high-achieving, perfectionist woman or genderqueer person struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, unhealthy perfectionism, or multi-cultural identity? If so, you’ve found the right place. I’m here to support you in your journey to find more clarity, calm, compassion, and confidence in yourself.

Thanks for being here.

Hi, I’m Lisa.

I started Perennial Therapy out of the belief that women and genderqueer individuals deserve a specialized approach to mental health care. I have been a fierce advocate of gender equality since my days in undergrad and my passion for equity continues to drive my career and therapeutic approach.

In 2021, I made a bittersweet decision to leave teaching to pursue a career in clinical mental health counseling. My work as a teacher during the pandemic affirmed my decision to go into a profession that supports people through tough challenges. The experience of being a vessel for others’ stories - painful and triumphant - continues to be an absolute privilege.

When I am not in therapy with clients, I am exploring the outdoors with my husband and two dogs (Or hanging out at home with our cat). I love all things outdoors - rock climbing, hiking, skiing, camping, SUPing, and rafting. I firmly believe that nature can be a place of refuge for all people. In case I don’t see you in therapy, I hope to see you on the trail!

My Values & Approach

My therapeutic approach comes from a person-centered and feminist application of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and mindfulness practice. In our sessions, we will collaborate to discover new insights and explore ways to reimagine the future while honoring your truth. Our work together will be rooted in self-compassion, acceptance, evidence-based practice, curiosity, mindfulness, and growth.
